St. Joseph's National School

Children in the school had to write poems on any subject. The poems were sent away for judging. The winners were informed that their poems were published in a book. The children went to the Riverside Hotel on the 18th. of June to pick up their poetry books. The book is called ‘Rhythm Lines’. They were signed by the Author who wrote the ‘Danny books’. The children also won a pencil for every body that had written a poem. The winners got a pencil and their own free book.

MY FAVOURITE HOBBY

Football, basketball.
None of them arc mine
Hockey, horse riding
(These two will only fit on this line)
Dancing, running, not for me
Swimming, knitting? No sir-ee!
Not racing in a kart
My favourite it’s got to be
ART

MY SPOOKY TREE HOUSE

I shiver and shake with fear
When I climb my tree house ladder
Then I hear a quiet creak
I try to scream. I can't say a thing!
It isn't dark what could it be?
A ghost. No way
I enter the tree house with a big fear.
I look into the corner.
IT IS JUST MY CAT

TEACHERS

Some teachers are cool
Some teachers are not
A few teachers shout
But most do not.
I like my teacher
She is kind, nice and fair
But if you think of getting in trouble
I wouldn't dare.
One thing is for sure
In all the years to come
The one thing I'll remember is
Miss Barry was so much FUN.
