Important Notice

From Thursday 7th January 2009 there will be no Lollipop Lady supervising the traffic lights before or after school at Templerainey.

Ms. Geraldine Gilbert, the school Lollipop Lady, has very recently informed the school that she will not be returning to work in January 2009. The school would like to thank her for her dedication and commitment to her work over the years.

Arklow Town Council has informed the school that she will not be replaced due to the current embargo on public sector recruitment. While the school will continue to make representations to all interested parties in our endeavours to have the position filled, we would strongly advise parents and guardians of our pupils to presume that there will not be a Lollipop Lady or any traffic steward in January.

Please revise the road safety codes with your children and train them in the safe use of pedestrian traffic lights and remind them to always use the traffic lights when crossing the road.

Have a safe and happy Christmas

Diarmuid Kavanagh, Principal
